The Mediterranean Institute is delighted to announce that Issue 30.1 of the Journal of Mediterranean Studies has just been published. This current issue consists of a strong line-up of contributions on Greek traditional architecture, vernacular houses in the Northern Aegean, sardine canneries, labour and ruptured histories in the Upper Adriatic, intercultural dialogue in the Mediterranean, the Mediterranean in Jewish history and Jews in the Mediterranean, as well as Alfred Louis Delattre’s letters to Maltese archaeologists. Articles in this issue are authored by Ulf Brunnbauer (Leibniz Institute for East and Southeast European Studies, Regensburg and University of Regensburg), Chiara Cecalupo (Universidad Carlos III de Madrid), Georgios Karatzas (National Technical University of Athens), Jessica M. Marglin and Matthias B. Lehmann (University of Southern California and University of California, Irvine), Evren Kocabicak (Yildiz Technical University), and Sofia Sutera (Università degli Studi di Padova).
Issue 30.1 of the Journal of Mediterranean Studies is also featuring two book reviews: Petra Caruana Dingli’s review of Giovanni Bonello ed., 2020 ‘Ta’ Liesse: Malta’s Waterfront Shrine for Mariners’ (Malta: Miller Distributors, 2020), and Miriam Fernández Santiago’s review of M.G. Sanchez’s ‘Gooseman’ (Dabuti Books, 2020).
