Prof. JosAnn Cutajar, from the Gender and Sexualities Department of the Faculty of Social Wellbeing and Mr Roderick Vassallo, Vice-Principal of Junior College attended the first in-person transnational meeting of GEPARD (Gender Equality Plans in Academia - Raising Diversity), an Erasmus+ project in Cyprus. The meeting was hosted by the European University Cyprus in Nicosia between the 19-20 May 2022.
The representatives of the University of Silesia, University of Malta, Paris Lodron University of Salzburg, European University Cyprus and EUniversity (and the University of Miskolc in a hybrid way) had a chance to discuss how to go about creating a universal Gender Equality Plan and teaching material to help institutions of higher education introduce and implement gender equality plans.
During the meeting, the participants had the opportunity to discuss the different intellectual outputs of the project and seek the way forward. The first three outputs concern the publication of a universal gender equality plan, a manual to accompany it and an online toolkit to assist in the production of an equality plan. The fourth output concerns the development of teaching material addressing several areas of study.
The project shall run till March 2024 and further information may be sought through the official website. The next transnational project meeting will take place in October in Salerno (Italy).
