A webinar entitled ‘Biobanking and the Role of Surgical Oncologist in Translational Research’ was held on the 21 July 2022. This is the result of a collaboration between GYNOCARE COST Action Chair, Prof Jean Calleja-Agius from the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Malta, and the European Society of Surgical Oncology (ESSO) and the ESSO Young Surgeons and Alumni Club (EYSAC).
The chairpersons of this webinar were Dr Afsana Elanko, Director of. Education for the British Association of Surgical Oncology (BASO) and Dr Mariela Vasileva-Slaveva from Shterev Hospital in Sofia, Bulgaria. The speakers included: Prof Jean Calleja-Agius,; Dr Sharon O’Toole from Trinity College, St James Hospital, Dublin who is the leader of the GYNOCAREWorking Group 2 which specifically deals with Biobanking, and Dr Rita Mukthar who is a surgical oncologist from the University of California,
