Shunsuke Shimura is a Japanese and Maltese pharmacist. He obtained his pharmacy degree from the Tokyo University of Pharmacy and Life Sciences and practised community pharmacy services for 4 years in Japan. He pursued his postgraduate studies at the Department of Pharmacy of the University of Malta and has completed his Doctorate in Pharmacy degree from University of Malta in 2022.
During his doctorate studies in Malta, Shunsuke undertook research under the supervision of Professor Anthony Serracino-Inglott and Dr Nicolette Sammut Bartolo in the area of pharmaceutical regulations and compared practises in Japan and the European Union.
Shunsuke presented his doctorate research during the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) World Congress held in Seville, Spain earlier this month. During the congress he was nominated as an FIP Champion. FIP Champions’ values and goals include bringing people together, creating a sense of ownership, belonging and partnership, and providing opportunities for personal development on an international scale.
