Dr Isabelle Gatt presented two papers at the 12th Annual International Congress for Critical Pedagogy and Transformative Leadership which ran from the 8 - 15 October 2022. The Congress, which was held at A Coruña, focussed on the arts and marginalised communities. This was an intensive week of research presentations, dialogues as well as meetings with marginalised communities in A Coruña, all of which proved to be an enriching experience and research exchange.
Dr Gatt, an academic from the Arts, Open Communities and Adult Education Department, was invited to present a pre-congress keynote speech which gave an overview of three community-based Theatre projects which formed part of AMASS. AMASS is the acronym for Acting on the Margins of Social Sculpture. This is a Horizon 2020 arts-based action research project which started in February 2020 and ends in January 2023.
