Dr Rebecca Hall, Visiting Senior Lecturer in the School of Performing Arts has recently returned from Serbia where she presented the Serbian premieres of works for flute by four Maltese composers. The premieres recital was held in the atrium of Belgrade’s National Museum.
The composers (the late Charles Camilleri and late Prof Joseph Vella, Dr. Veronique Vella and Carl Borg) all have ties to the Department of Music studies. The lecture recital discussed the history of these compositions and tied them to works by Canadian composers David Jaeger and Jason Noble. Dr. Hall also presented works by Debussy, Schubert and Mozart, accompanied by Serbian pianist Masa Babic.
