Prof. Mark Mifsud, Director at the Centre for Environmental Education and Research (CEER) at the University of Malta, and Institute for Education Masters graduates Rebecca Cassar and Nadine Sciortino attended the fourth World Symposium on Sustainability Science and Research held on the 19th and 20th of January.
The Symposium was organised by the European School of Sustainability Science and Research (ESSSR) and the International Sustainable Development Research Programme (IUSDRP) in cooperation with the University of Murcia where it was held.
Sciortino and Mifsud presented a paper that focused on the development of a fieldwork resource pack as a tool in the teaching of chemistry and sustainability education at secondary level.
The research stimulated interest amongst a number of educator researchers.
Cassar and Mifsud presented a paper that focused on the integration of Education for Sustainable Development within the teaching and syllabi documents of geography at post-secondary level.
The study was awarded a Best Paper Award during the award ceremony of the symposium.
