The chief academic officer of the IE University in Spain, Provost Muñiz, has recently paid a visit to the University of Malta Msida Campus. The provost met with UM Rector, Prof. Alfred J. Vella upon his arrival to the Main Administration Building, as well as, UM Secretary Mr Simon Sammut, Pro-Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Joseph M Cacciottolo, Pro-Rector for International Development and Quality Assurance, Prof. Frank Bezzina, and Pro-Rector for Research and Knowledge Transfer, Prof. Ing. Simon G Fabri. Also in attendance were Ms María Eugenia Marín, Vice Provost of IE University Spain, H.E. Daniel Azzopardi, Ambassador for Malta in Spain, and H.E. Jose Maria Muriel, Ambassador for Spain in Malta.

During the meeting held on 6 July 2023, the three parties discussed several topics of interests that are common to them, which are primarily related to the education sector.

The Rector thanked Provost Muñiz for showing interest in visiting our University and extended his invitation for any upcoming opportunities to revisit the campus in the near future.
