Dr Nathaniel Massa, from the Department of Business and Enterprise Management, FEMA was invited to participate at the thirteenth Global Entrepreneurship Congress (GEC) 2023 in Melbourne, Australia between 19 and 22 September.
Four days of actionable intelligence, collaboration and collective action, the Global Entrepreneurship Congress brings together global thought leaders, entrepreneurs, investors, researchers, policymakers and entrepreneurial support organisations – thousands of voices, from more than 200+ countries participating towards creating one inclusive global ecosystem by networking, learning, and sharing.
Since its inception in 2009, the GEC has created opportunities for founders to share new business models and connect with experienced mentors and investors who help them scale. It has hosted thought leaders challenging the status quo; policymakers intent on incentivising entrepreneurs and removing barriers, and academics exploring new ways of working and new sources of data. All attendees make invaluable connections that grow their footprint in entrepreneurship and innovation contexts around the world.
Among the highlights of the Congress were inspiring fireside chats conducted by Booking.com co-founder and GEN Chairman Jeff Hoffman with several established start up founders and sports champions turned entrepreneurs; as well as discussion sessions deepening understanding of new ways the world looks at entrepreneurship in creating more equitable, diverse and sustainable societies; insights on the world’s high performing startup, scale up and innovation programs; enhancing entrepreneur support programs, identifying effective policy for entrepreneur, investor, and support system performance, and providing platforms for research, education and the promotion of entrepreneurial ideas, products, and services.
In this regard, Dr Massa commends the initiatives undertaken by the local Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN) representation, The Edward de Bono Institute at the University of Malta.
