The Faculty of Economics, Management & Accountancy (FEMA) has just launched its new postgraduate executive flagship programme – the International MBA.
Targeted at practitioners and business professionals; and building on the success of its longstanding Executive MBA which over the years counts scores of managers and C-suite executives among its alumni; the new International MBA has been totally redesigned from the ground up.
It presents a new curriculum of purposely tailored applied masterclasses and workshops aligned with increasingly complex, disruptive and competitive realities; with at its core an immersive delivery modality catering for the needs of working professionals – whether based locally, or residing abroad.
FEMA recently held a launch and welcome event, followed by a reception and networking drinks – for the incoming international MBA cohort of practitioners representing 10 different nationalities spanning Europe, Asia and the Americas.
Joined by faculty members and industry specialists involved on the programme, the Dean, Prof. Emanuel Said welcomed the participants on the new International MBA. The directing Coordinators of the MBA programme, Dr Joe Schembri and Dr Nathaniel Massa delivered an introduction and overview of the new international programme.
Special guests at the event were Mr Kenneth Farrugia, BOV CEO and former Finance Malta Chairman; and Mr Stephen L Muscat, Liquigas CFO and Treasurer of the Malta Employers Association – who were engaged on an interesting panel discussion on managerial needs, talent and leadership requirements for sustained operational success and effective strategy deployment in today’s dynamic competitive circumstances.
The applied and engaging study-units on this new International MBA incorporate customised sessions delivered by local and foreign faculty as well as technical specialists. Topic modules span across competitive strategy, leadership, finance and marketing; through to information systems and innovation, and electives including entrepreneurship, international business and governance and public policy; together with transformational change management and the full spread of functional management specialisms in between – as typically expected of the best accredited business schools’ MBA programmes.
Internationally-oriented by design – besides global application, direct involvement of seasoned visiting professors from foreign business schools, and an integrated study-visit abroad – FEMA’s new International MBA programme combines immersive intensive in-person blocks with hybrid delivered select weekend and periodic evening sessions – actively accommodating both busy local professionals, as well as international participants based abroad, effectively enabling full participation.
The 2-year flexible programme is rounded off with a supervised and mentored research Capstone Project consolidating and directly enhancing participants’ derived applied value. This taking the form of either an applied Research Dissertation, a Consulting Project, or a new venture Business Plan / Feasibility Study Project.
