Dr Immanuel Mifsud, Department of Maltese, was recently invited by Ms Julijana Velichkovska, translator, publisher and director of the poetry festivals in Skopje and Velestovo, to the Skopje International Poetry Festival, held in the North Macedonian capital between 26 and 28 September. One day before the official festival opening, PNV Publishers launched Dr Mifsud’s poetry collection На околу два и пол часа од рајот (Around Two and a Half Hours Away from Heaven), his third book to be translated into Macedonian.

The influential North Macedonian daily Nova Makedonija published an interview with Immanuel Mifsud, while the cultural portal kulturabeta.com hailed the book as "a large collection, not only because of its physical volume but also because of the feeling one gets when reading the poems."

The highlight of Dr Mifsud’s visit was a poetry masterclass he gave at the Main City Library of Skopje to an audience of around 70 young writers.
