A proud Alumnus of MEDAC, Mr Mohamed Wael Khammassi, the Charge d'Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Tunisia in Malta, gave an engaging talk at the Academy, on Wednesday 15 November 2023.

Mr Khammassi commenced with a brief on the history of the agreement between Tunisia and the EEC in 1976 and highlighted the fact that it was the first Arab country to sign an association agreement with the EU which set the basis of all interregional relations.

Mr Khammassi went on to describe the privileged partnership between Tunisia and the EU and the axes that define it: Macroeconomic Stability, Economy and Trade, Green Energy Transition, People to People Contacts, and Migration and Mobility.

Mr Khammassi then took part in a candid and stimulating exchange with MEDAC students, together with the Director of the Academy, Prof. Stephen Calleya.
