Last weekend saw Greek, Croatian and Maltese partners of the Erasmus+ project entitled coMics and IllustRations Augmented to tackle Climate change in primary Education – better known as MIRACLE – come together for a teacher training activity in Malta, at Maria Regina College St Paul’s Bay Primary.
The Department of Media and Communications is leading the partnership in this project for the University of Malta.
From Friday 26 to Saturday 27 January, participants – including Prof. Ġorġ Mallia, Head of the Department, and Ms Megan Mallia, Research Support Officer within the Department – engaged in discussions about sustainability education, workshops in digital literacy and the use of comics in education (the latter led by Prof. Mallia), and reviews of teaching methods and materials inspired by the culture of the multinational project – namely climate change consciousness, whole-class co-creation, and eco-optimism in school and out of it.
The Department of Media and Communications is contributing primarily through media creation and evaluation.
More information about the MIRACLE project can be found on its LinkedIn page.
