We are pleased to announce that the SEA-EU has endorsed the Charter of the EU Mission: Restore our Ocean and Waters.
The EU Mission "Restore our Ocean and Waters" is dedicated to safeguarding and rejuvenating the vitality of our oceans and waters by Leveraging Research, Innovation, and Community Involvement, aiming to harmonise Environmental Preservation with Climate Neutrality Objectives.
Prof. Alan Deidun, Rector’s Delegate for the SEA-EU Alliance, is also a Board member of the same Mission.
Given the coastal nature of the University and the Alliance cities and the converging objectives of the two projects, SEA-EU signed the Charter, thus joining the network of regional "lighthouses” - to pilot, demonstrate, develop, and implement mission activities.
In this regard, we have been notified of funding opportunities under the “EU Blue Champions” Scheme to support innovative projects helping to restore the ocean and waters.
EU Blue Champions - Scheme Objective: Financial Advice for selected projects to address blue economy issues (restoring marine and freshwater ecosystems and biodiversity, eliminating pollution, or decarbonising the blue economy)
Application deadline: 31 January 2024
