Postgraduate students following the course offered by Prof. Lino Bianco at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Pontifical Gregorian University, were invited for a group photograph with His Holiness at the General Audience of Wednesday 24 January 2024. His study-unit, offered to candidates reading for a licentiate or doctorate in Leadership and Management, is inspired by Pope Francis’s Encyclical Letter Laudato Si. Its aim is to foster an experiential appreciation of the built environment grounded in the dialogue between the human and social sciences.
During the event, Prof. Bianco was given the opportunity to field a question to Pope Francis. Alessandra Bianco, a doctoral student at the Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, who supported in the digital presentations of the lectures, was invited to join the cohort for this event.
Prof. Bianco, a full-time resident academic at the Department of Architecture and Urban Design, Faculty for the Built Environment, moved to a position at this foremost pontifical university for his sabbatical leave. He published widely in the Melita Theologica, the journal of the Faculty of Theology, and was also a former lecturer and examiner at the Faculty of Arts and at the Faculty of Laws.
