The School of Performing Arts at UM has recently launched the SPACE (School of Performing Arts Community Engagement) Project.
The project aims to support all initiatives taken by the said school in reaching out to diverse groups within the University of Malta and beyond. This initiative aims to facilitate engagement with the public through open lectures as well as through collaborations with stakeholders and other organisations.
SPACE’s primary focus is on social impact and an effective response through the performing arts to the varied needs and expectations of the community. Through this project, the School aspires to highlight the value and place of the performing arts not only in venues of artistic expression but also in hospitals, homes for the elderly, migrant centres, correctional facilities, youth centres, and schools among others.
All this should contribute to enhancing student experience, provide training in this domain, and generate engagement opportunities for alumni.
