A new Artificial Intelligence (AI) project, led by Dr Claudia Borg from the University's Faculty of Information and Communication Technology will see an advanced ChatBot communication facility for clients in the financial sector.
This advanced communication facility will be offered in Maltese, which is the first language offering such a service in such an industry.
Over the last few years, ChatBot has made direct communications with various entities convenient, enabling customers to be guided on various matters regarding services such as online bookings.
Dr Claudia Borg said that there already is a digital platform for communication and the possibility to revert back to English, but this is a new, innovative way of accessing the use of modern Maltese.
She also clarified that one does not need to use orthographically correct questions, but needs to understand digital Maltese.
Dr Borg specified that instead of there being one single Chatbot to be used by all companies, each entity will have its own implementation according to the service/s being offered.
