At just 21 years old, Bachelor of Music student Megan May Caruana has big aspirations.
Saying she’s determined to reach them is an understatement.
She’s been a professional singer for 14 years, she’s been playing the piano since she was 7 years old, and she’s been dabbling in acting for even longer than that.
“My parents and grandparents used to dance around the house, it was always filled with music, so the love for music has always been instilled in me”, she says.
Her pre-performance ritual usually consists of meditating, doing a vocal warm-up, and listening to Kanye West.
She’s also a vocal coach – and one piece of advice she hopes to pass on to students is to find that courage to break what she calls ‘the wall of confidence’.
“Once you break that wall, you will find that confidence and willingness to keep challenging yourself to reach new heights.”
Her guilty pleasures, which she says make up her whole personality, are many too – with online shopping being the one that takes up the most time, and re-watching her favourite movies like Mamma Mia, being a close second.
