Through this scheme, doctoral graduate students will have an opportunity to join local businesses and conduct research, thereby putting what they've learned into practice while helping the industry gain more insight.

He also mentioned the 66 students graduating from the University with a doctorate, some of whom will be able to participate in this scheme, and wished success for all collaborators.
Parliamentary Secretary, Hon. Keith Azzopardi Tanti stressed on the importance of such collaborations that constitute an investment in education that bears the necessary fruit.
Malta Chamber CEO, Dr Marthese Portelli, said the Chamber has always emphasised the importance of investment in research and innovation, and this scheme is beneficial for businesses to recognise the potential of researchers and collaborates with them to improve their products and services.
The Post-Doctoral Fellowship Scheme is open to students who have just obtained their doctorate and wish to collaborate with local businesses, as well as to those businesses who already employ local researchers and wish to carry out a research project. Each selected project will be financed with a maximum of €68,000 per year for two years for each researcher, which can be extended for another year.
