On 5 April 2024, a group of students from the Department of Insurance and Risk Management embarked on an immersive tour through the esteemed financial district of London, delving into the world of insurance and risk management. Venturing into the historic Bank district, the journey included the renowned Lloyd's of London, the distinguished Chartered Insurance Institute (CII), and various other related organisations.
Lloyd's of London, is an iconic institution with a legacy dating back to the late 17th century. Stepping into the historic Lloyd's building, students witnessed first hand, the bustling underwriting floor, where specialist underwriters diligently assess and underwrite diverse risks, was a remarkable insight into the meticulous craftsmanship that underpins Lloyd's global reputation.
Visiting the Chartered Insurance Institute, allowed the engagement with industry experts and educators, and students gained invaluable perspectives on the evolving landscape of insurance, witnessing the commitment to excellence and professionalism that the CII embodies.
