Prof. Isabelle Gatt from the Department of Arts, Open Communities, and Adult Education at the Faculty of Education recently returned from the 3rd International Scenario Forum Conference 2024, titled "Presence in Performative Teaching, Learning and Research," held at Trinity College Dublin. The conference featured esteemed keynote speakers, including international scholar Erika Fischer-Lichte. The highlight of the event was the participation of keynote practitioners from Odin Teatret, Denmark: Eugenio Barba, who presented on Theatre Anthropology and Pre-Expressivity, and Julia Varley, who conducted an intensive work demonstration on "Body and Voice: Principles of Intensifying Stage Presence."
Prof. Gatt led a workshop titled "Who Listens When I Speak?" focused on harnessing energy, voice, and presence in teaching. She shared valuable insights and actor techniques with fellow conference participants, enhancing their teaching practices through performative skills.
