On Monday 13 and Tuesday 14 May 2024 the University’s Department of Translation, Terminology & Interpreting Studies opened the doors to the recently upgraded Interpreters’ and Audiovisual Translation Laboratory for the Open Days of the Master in Interpreting Studies.
In addition to a presentation of the programme, guests got an insight into the work of interpreters and they were able to step inside the booths to try simultaneous interpreting in various language combinations. A European Commission staff interpreter also joined for a Q&A session. The interpreting students provided live interpretation from English into Maltese and vice versa, and also shared their experiences with guests.
