Prof. Sandra C. Buttigieg, Head of Department of Health Systems Management and Leadership, Faculty of Health Sciences and President of the European Health Management Association, as well as co-Leader of WG4 of Cost Action 19113 European Researchers' Network Working on Second Victims ERNST participated as a trainer in an intensive training school on the Second Victim Phenomenon and Second Victim Support Programmes.
This took place in Vienna Austria during the period 22-24 May 2024, hosted by the Vienna Health Association (WiGev) at Klinik Floridsdorf, WiGeV.
The training school also included a visit to their Medical Simulation Centre.
12 Trainers and 33 participants from 17 countries were present, namely from Austria, Croatia, Egypt, Estonia, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Kosovo, Malta, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Spain and Turkey.
The biggest group of trainees was from Malta: eight healthcare professionals -

- 1 pharmacist, and
- 1 physiotherapist
