On Friday 19 July 2024, Minister for Education, Sport,
Youth, Research and Innovation, Hon. Clifton Grima launched the latest edition
of ‘I Choose - Nagħżel il-Karriera Tiegħi’, the annual fair aimed at students
in government, church and independent schools who have just completed secondary
education and would like some guidance as to which career paths make the most
sense to them.
This event is being held around the same time as
students receive their O’Level and A’Level results.
Minister Grima augured the students who have passed
their exams with flying colours and encouraged others who were hoping for
better results to still explore their career choices.
“We want to encourage more students to continue
their education whilst thinking of the emerging needs in the world of work”,
the Minister said.
The University of Malta will, as it has in previous years, be participating in
the fair.
The educational fair will be open from Friday 19
July between 16:00 and 20:00 and on Saturday 20 July between 09:00 and 13:00 at
the Excelsior Hotel in Floriana.
Short interactive videos with direct experiences
from individuals working within different industries and a short quiz helping
students identify which work sector is of interest to them, are also available online, in Maltese and English.
