Dr Rebecca Hall, from the Department of Music Studies at the School of Performing Arts, presented a lecture and recital at The National Flute Association International Convention in San Antonio, Texas in August. The convention, with attendance of more than three thousand performers, musicologists and scholars, is the largest of its kind in the world.
Dr Hall was the first Maltese representative in the more than fifty year history of the event.
Her featured works included Prof. Charles Camilleri's Desert Songs, as well as a series of premiere recordings and videos of Maltese baroque composers Tommaso Prota and Mikel Angelo Vella, and an exploration of Nicolo Isouard's flute writings in Paris in the early 19th Century.
