Over 33,000 people attended Science in the City this weekend for a fun-filled festival that blended science, technology, engineering, arts, and math.
For the past 12 years, Science in the City has sparked curiosity and creativity in Malta, bringing local and international researchers, organizations and artists to Valletta.
This year’s theme, J.E.D.I., which stands for ‘Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion’ emphasized the core values of Science in the City as it aims to engage critical thinking, abolish inequalities, amplify diverse voices, and ensure fair access to opportunities.
As one of the largest events taking place during European Researchers’ Night, which happens in 300 cities across Europe, Science in the City is an event you don’t want to miss.
Over 3,000 people enjoyed this year’s performance festival featuring particle physics explosions, melodic DNA rhythms, and a performance celebrating neurodiversity. At the street festival, visitors could find robots solving rubik's cubes, VR shipwrecks, a mini electric bus, and many more interactive science activities. Huge thanks goes out to our passionate participants, enthusiastic volunteers, and dedicated team for making the festival a success.
