On Friday 25 October 2024, the ALIVE Charity Foundation has generously donated €100,000 to the Research, Innovation, and Development Trust (RIDT) following their 2024 fundraising campaign.
The VistMalta ALIVE2024 Cycling Challenge for Cancer Research was held earlier this year, with the presentation night celebrating the group of cyclists, back-up team members and the Foundation Committee that dedicated endless hours to a tough training programme and fundraising for a great cause.
This significant contribution will support essential cancer research projects at the University of Malta, focusing on developing new methods for early cancer detection, advancing cancer understanding, enhancing treatment options, and aiding post-treatment rehabilitation for patients.
The 2024 Campaign concluded intentionally between Pink October and Movember, underscoring the ALIVE Charity Foundation’s dedication to raising cancer awareness and supporting global prevention and treatment initiatives.
Over recent years, ALIVE has donated more than €920,000 toward pioneering research projects at the University of Malta, fostering advancements in cancer treatment and care.
“We’re thrilled to move forward with ALIVE2025, with a goal to surpass €1,000,000 in direct donations to RIDT," stated Nicky Camilleri, Chairperson of the ALIVE Charity Foundation.
“We are greatly appreciative of these huge efforts by the ALIVE Charity Foundation. The generous and regular donations by ALIVE Charity Foundation, make it possible for the University of Malta to sustain a long-term vision of cutting-edge cancer research. It is very encouraging for our researchers to know that they can count on NGOs, individuals and businesses within the community, I encourage others to follow in the footsteps of the ALIVE Charity Foundation,” said Wilfred Kenely, CEO of RIDT.
The ALIVE Charity Foundation extends heartfelt gratitude to all its partners that were crucial in the success of the ALIVE2024 Campaign, particularly VisitMalta, Garmin Malta, Falzon Group, APS Bank, Pack Project Ltd., Express Trailers, Pillow Spaceframes, The Jungle Box, Warehouse Fitness Studio, MaritimeMT and other supporting companies.
