Ms Elisa Gatt, an alumnus of the Department of Insurance & Risk Management of the University of Malta, was selected to attend the European Risk Management Forum 2024 in Madrid, organised by the Federation of European Risk Management Association (FERMA).

Ms Gatt, who graduated in 2023 with a Master of Science in Insurance and Risk Management, was invited to attend this Forum as one of the top students in her cohort. This was the fifth session for which the Department of Insurance & Risk Management has sent one of its most promising postgraduate students to attend this event.

During her stay, Ms Gatt followed the students’ programme, which included several workshops, and networking opportunities. Ms Gatt, who is now an industry professional, credited this experience as both valuable and rewarding, since she gained a better acumen of risk management techniques and practices which she may now implement in her day-to-day job.

The European Risk Management Forum 2024, which is a yearly event, was attended by 23 risk management associations from 22 European countries.
