The Department of Tourism Management of the Faculty of Economics, Management and Accountancy recently hosted over 45 staff members of the Malta Tourism Authority for a training seminar.

The subject of the seminar was Sustainability and Tourism. Sustainability is a concept that is of central importance in many sectors, including tourism. Dr John Ebejer, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Tourism Management, gave presentations on various topics including the SDGs, reduction of carbon emissions, energy efficiency of buildings, eco-certification and sustainable mobility.

It was also a good opportunity for networking and it is hoped that there will be further collaborations between the Department and the Malta Tourism Authority.

The training seminar was organised by Mr Kevin J. Farrugia, the MTA training Manager, in collaboration with Dr Ebejer.
