On Friday 29 November, Dr Paula Guzzanti Ferrer, who is the Head of the Department of Dance Studies at the School of Performing Arts at UM, was interviewed on the Campus 103.7 radio programme, CafetÃn de Buenos Aires, the radio series about the world of Argentine tango.
The radio programme is hosted weekly by Dr Karen Micallef Xuereb on Campus 103.7.
Dr Guzzanti Ferrer, from Buenos Aires, Argentina, researched dance improvisation practice and theory, choreographic practice, collaborative creative processes, embodied theories of mind and affect studies. Her improvisational practice is influenced by direct training with choreographer/writer Miranda Tufnell, Rosalind Crisp and Lisa Nelson. In her practice-as research PhD, she investigated the relationship between conscious awareness and affect in dance improvisation practice and performance, through interdisciplinary collaborative projects.
Dr Guzzanti Ferrer is also a professional tango dancer and shares her love and knowledge of her native dance and music with tango lovers in Malta through the setup of Pasióntango.MT.
CafetÃn de Buenos Aires also airs on Fridays at 23:00 and Sundays at noon.
