The new Public Affairs Officer at the Embassy of the United States of America in Malta Ms Christy Gillmore was received for a courtesy meeting at the University of Malta by Prof. Frank J. Bezzina, Pro Rector for International Development and Quality Assurance and Ms Stefania Agius Fabri, Director, International Office.
Also joining the meeting were Mr Michael Kidwell, Deputy Director, Office of Southern European Affairs, U.S. Department of State and Ms Joanna Zingariello, Press and Public Engagement Specialist also from the US Embassy in Malta.
The discussion focused on the ongoing collaborations between the University of Malta and the United States which includes a number of highly successful Joint Programmes, the Fulbright Programme, exchange activities and other study abroad activities which are bringing to the UM close to 100 students this year, 4 Fulbright English Teaching Assistants, a Fulbright Scholar and Fulbright Specialists too.
Speaking on behalf of the University of Malta, Prof. Bezzina thanked the Embassy for the consistent support and willingness to engage and partner with the University of Malta and assured them of our commitment to continue nurturing the excellent relationship.
