Mr Mario Xuereb, a visiting lecturer at the Department of Policy, Politics & Governance within the Faculty of Economics, Management & Accountancy (FEMA) and the Institute of Maltese Studies, has been appointed CEO of the Malta Business Bureau, succeeding long-serving CEO Joe Tanti.
Xuereb is currently pursuing doctoral research and holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in History, a Postgraduate Certificate in Education, and a European Master’s in Mediterranean Historical Studies.
His career includes roles as assistant editor at The Times of Malta, senior manager at Public Broadcasting Services for 12 years, and head of news at Media.Link Communications until 2009.
The Malta Business Bureau serves as the EU business advisory arm for the Malta Chamber of Commerce and the Malta Hotels and Restaurants Association.
Speaking to Newspoint, Mr Xuereb said his objective is to ensure that Malta's unique circumstances receive greater recognition in the shaping of European legislation, particularly within the context of today's global challenges.
"At the same time, I will ensure that the MBB enhances its communication with businesses in Malta, ofering them innovative solutions to adapt to ever-changing realities", he said.
