Last week, Prof. Jonathan C. Borg from the Department of Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering attended the 'Business of Design Week (BODW)' and the parallel 'DesignInspire' events held in Hong Kong. During his visit, Prof. Borg also delivered a keynote presentation entitled "AI and Participatory Design in Prosthetics: Meeting the Evolving Needs of Amputees", showcasing innovative research on smart prosthetics being conducted at the University of Malta.
This presentation was delivered to PhD researchers and educators at The School of Design, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, where Prof. Borg was hosted by Prof. Bian SH Lee, Vice-Dean at PolyU, and Prof. Hailiang Wang, leader of the Future Intelligent Tailored (FIT) Design Group. The visit underscored the importance of global collaboration in advancing design innovation, particularly in the field of smart healthcare technologies.
