The GreenToC Erasmus+ KA-220-HED project officially launched with a kick-off meeting hosted by Tibiscus University of Timișoara on 27–28 January 2025.
This meeting brought together project partners to establish the project framework, define responsibilities, and outline key implementation phases. Discussions focused on structuring the "Green Transformation Strategy" course, integrating AI and digital tools, and developing the GreenToC digital platform, which will serve as a central resource hub for academics and students. The meeting also laid the groundwork for dissemination strategies to maximise the project's impact across higher education and the labour market.
The University of Malta plays a key role in GreenToC, particularly in academic training and curriculum development. Represented by Dr Ing. Lawrence Farrugia Caruana and Dr Diane Vassallo, the University is responsible for designing training activities, leading the peer review process for educational materials, and hosting a long-term training event for academics in Malta. With its expertise in educational technology, the University of Malta is well-positioned to support the integration of green transformation strategies into higher education curricula.
Following the successful launch at Tibiscus University of Timișoara, the project is now advancing into content development, curriculum design, and the creation of digital tools to support academics and students.
The upcoming training event in Malta will be a key milestone, equipping academics with the knowledge and skills necessary to implement green transformation strategies effectively. Through collaboration between universities, students, and industry partners, GreenToC aims to foster a more sustainable and practice-oriented approach to education, ensuring that future professionals are well-prepared to tackle environmental challenges.
