Prof. Valerie Sollars, Pro-Rector for Strategic Planning and Sustainability, together with a number of academic colleagues from different Faculties, Institutes and Centres at the University of Malta, recently met with Ms Beth Button, the Director of External Affairs at the Association of Commonwealth Universities.
The purpose of this meeting was to strengthen the relationship between the ACU and UM particularly through the participation of academic members of staff on various initiatives which are offered by ACU.
Initiatives which were discussed during the meeting included:
- the Higher Education Taskforce - including the working groups on digital and AI and access and inclusion
- Centre of Excellence for Oceanography and the Blue Economy
- The new King’s Commonwealth Fellowship Programme
- ACU Annual Grants and Scholarships Programmes
- The Equitable Partnerships Toolkit
- The ACU Roster of Experts
- The ACU Membership Conference
- ACU Higher education and the SDGs network
