The University of Malta is a partner in the Interreg Europe project DETOCS, together with the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Tourism. The project addresses decarbonisation of the tourism sector beyond COVID-19 support.
Prof. Ing. Charles Yousif from the Institute for Sustainable Energy together with Dr. Anne Marie Thake from the Department of Policy, Politics and Governance and the collaboration of the Project Support Officer Ing. Krista Rizzo have identified the first Good Practice Example GUEST - a project spearheaded by the Energy and Water Agency, for supporting guesthouse owners to embark on a sustainable transition pathway for energy and water.
The Good Practice has been endorsed by the Interreg Europe Programme and published in the Good Practices Database on the programme's website. Policy makers around Europe will be able to consult this good practice online and contact the project lead through the Policy Learning Platform for further exchange of experiences.
