The University of Malta is pleased to announce that Prof. Sandra C. Buttigieg, Head of Department of Health Systems Management and Leadership, Faculty of Health Sciences, has been conferred the title of Honorary Professor in the College of Social Sciences at the University of Birmingham, UK.
The University of Birmingham is ranked 80th in the QS World University Rankings 2025, maintaining its position in the top 100 universities globally and placed 12th amongst UK universities.
This prestigious appointment, effective from 4 February 2025 to 31 December 2027, recognises Professor Buttigieg’s outstanding contributions to the fields of health systems management, leadership, and patient safety.
As an esteemed member of the academic community, Professor Buttigieg will further strengthen international collaborations in health management and leadership research and education.
