On 1 March 2025, Rev. Dr Mark J. Zammit, Head of the Department of Fundamental and Dogmatic Theology at the Faculty of Theology, University of Malta, hosted the Annual Curatorium Meeting of the European Society for Catholic Theology (ESCT). The meeting took place in the Aula Magna at the Valletta Campus of the University of Malta.
Rev. Dr Zammit, who serves as a member of the Curatorium, welcomed the participants to Malta on the occasion of the international theological conference "Nicaea and Beyond: Implications for Contemporary Christianity", which had just concluded. The conference, held in Malta from 28 February to 1 March 2025, was organised by the Department of Fundamental and Dogmatic Theology at UM, under the coordination of Rev. Dr Zammit, and in collaboration with the European Society for Catholic Theology.
The European Society for Catholic Theology seeks to foster dialogue and networking among theologians and scholars, and supports its members in addressing the pressing theological and cultural questions facing contemporary Christianity and European culture. The Society is also committed to the promotion of theological education, research, and service across Europe.
This meeting also served to reaffirm the Faculty of Theology's ongoing commitment to theological dialogue and academic collaboration across the continent.
