On Friday, 21 February 2025, the Faculty of Theology at the University of Malta had the honour of hosting a Public Lecture by His Eminence Metropolitan Job of Pisidia, focusing on the theme of Orthodox–Roman Catholic theological dialogue. The event was held in the University Council Room and offered a rich occasion for reflection and discussion on the progress, challenges, and future of relations between the Catholic and Orthodox Churches.
Metropolitan Job of Pisidia is a leading figure in ecumenical dialogue. He currently serves as Co-President of the Joint International Commission for Theological Dialogue between the Roman Catholic Church and the Orthodox Church, and as Permanent Representative of the Ecumenical Patriarchate to the World Council of Churches.
The lecture was held in collaboration with the Patriarchal Exarchate of Melite and the Ecumenical Commission of the Archdiocese of Malta, and was attended by Archbishop Charles J. Scicluna, Metropolitan Kyrillos Katerelos (Metropolitan of Krini and Exarch of Malta), academics, students, and members of the wider public.
