The Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange is leading a project entitled 'Transformation of Competencies at the University: Peer-Tutoring as a Key Element of Student Development Support' (Peer-EDU), which explores the concept and pilot implementation of peer tutoring in higher education.
There are three partners in this project, namely University of Gdansk, University of Split and the University of Malta, the latter being represented by Dr Michelle Attard Tonna and Dr Charmaine Bonello.
The first mobility experience of this project took place at the Valletta campus, Malta on the 2, 3 and 4 April, 2025.
The project participants, together with two experts who were invited because of their experience with peer tutoring in their university, analysed the initial findings of the questionnaire which was distributed among all students and staff in these three universities, and discussed the implications of these findings on the implementation of peer tutoring in higher education.
The strategic plan of this implementation was also discussed, together with considerations for training for staff and peer tutors.
