Recently, Dr Immanuel Mifsud, who lectures at the Department of Maltese, read his poem 'The Book' at Westminster Abbey during the annual multi-faith service to mark Commonwealth Day.
Immanuel Mifsud was commissioned to write an original work by the Commonwealth Education Trust. The service, officiated by Queen Elizabeth II, was addressed by a number of prominent artists from other Commonwealth countries as well as Prime Minister Joseph Muscat, currently chair-in-office of the Commonwealth.
