Workforce Profiles in Systems of Early Childhood Education in Europe is the title of a new publication which comes at the end of a two-year project and which includes reports from the EU28 countries as well as Russia and Ukraine.
Each country report focuses on the current status quo regarding the qualification requirements for early childhood education and care professionals (pedagogues, teachers, educators), the composition of the workforce, the systems of initial professional education and continuing professional development, current reform initiatives and research projects and selected aspects of the working conditions of staff in each of the 30 participating countries.
The project was led by German colleagues at the State Institute of Early Childhood Research who were commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Family and Youth Affairs.
Prof. Valerie Sollars, a member of staff at the Faculty of Education, was invited to author the report for Malta. This is available online.
