The new Master of Social Work may be the ideal course for people who want to further their graduate studies and become a professional social worker.
Social work is a practice-based profession and an academic discipline that works with individuals, families, groups and communities to promote their wellbeing. Social workers practice in areas including: children and families, the elderly, disability, addictions, migration, mental health, education, rehabilitation, health, diversity and anti-oppression, the community, poverty, and inclusion, amongst others.
The Master of Social Work (MSW) is a two-year full-time professional degree providing entry into the profession of Social Work for graduates from other fields. Individuals who complete the Master of Social Work programme are educated into the profession of social work.
