The meeting brought to a close the collaboration on the CAMP-sUmp project while consolidating final deliverables, targets and objectives. The Interreg MED CAMP-sUmp Project is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund and aimed to develop the appropriate tools and knowledge for Mediterranean Universities to produce their own Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans. Participating universities within this project included: The University of Catanzaro, Italy (FUMG), National Technical University of Athens, Greece (NTUA), University of Valencia, Spain (UV), University of Cyprus (UCY), University of Malta (UM), University of Bolognia, Italy (UNIBO) and the University of Split, Croatia (UNIST).
Throughout the two-day meeting various discussions were held on the current progress and challenges of the project as well as future developments. Real-world applications held centre stage during discussions, with special emphasis being placed on the integration of ICT tools in the implementation of Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans at universities.
Round-table discussions with transport research professionals and Valencian stakeholders and the media were held on the second day to publicise the results, achievements and main outcomes of the project. The main outcomes include an Action Plan and Road Map as well as a framework for an ICT platform to be applied to Mediterranean universities to aid in the implementation and improvement of sustainable mobility plans.
