Donald Dalli is a doctoral research student, currently working on his Ph.D. at the Department of Metallurgy & Materials Engineering, within the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Malta.
His research involves analysing how hip replacements perform once implanted inside a patient. In addition to this, he is currently working on a new hip implant able to resist wear.
The MaltaHip project is a collaboration between the University of Malta and MCL Components Ltd, as is being funded by the Malta Council for Science and Technology.
The Department of Mechanical Engineering and the Department of Anatomy (Faculty of Medicine and Surgery), are also collaborating on this project.
