The Department of Media and Communications, Faculty of Media and Knowledge Sciences, is pleased to announce the first taught Master of Arts in Media and Communications offered by the University of Malta. The course duration is that of two years, and it is made up of eleven taught units, a placement, two mentored projects, and a research or project-based dissertation.
This Master of Arts provides students with an in-depth knowledge of many aspects of what is an inextricable part of today’s society, which is particularly important because of the speed with which media technologies are changing the way we live. The course content and student specialisation ascertain preparedness for employment in one or more of the areas that form part of this topical field of study.
The course is intended for graduates who are already in, or would like to make a career in any areas that fall within Media and Communications. The taught component of the course supports an in-depth mastery of the different manifestations of media and communications, while the independent study component provides a platform for specialisation in any of the areas, such as Journalism, Marketing Communications, Design, Film and Video, Internet Communications, etc.
This course is envisioned for media professionals and all those who want an in-depth understanding of the phenomenon that dominates present day society.
The first intake of students will be in October 2018.
