The Faculty of Health Sciences celebrated the Dean’s Awards on 6 July, 2018. This year’s award recognised efforts, achievements, and accomplishments amongst undergraduate students following full-time courses in the Faculty of Health Sciences. Students who made it to the Dean’s List comprised Katherine Degiorgio, Nadine Dimech, Leanne Buttigieg and Nicole Borg from the Department of Nursing, Carol Ciantar and Rebekah Felice from the Department of Communication Therapy, Ella Degiorgio and Matthew Cini from the Department of Physiotherapy, Charlene Portelli, Marlene Muscat and Eric Ellul Falzon from the Department of Applied Biomedical Sciences, Rebecca Muscat from the Department of Occupational Therapy, and Josephine Debattista from the Department of Podiatry. Academics, clinical mentors, members of the administrative and technical staff were also acknowledged for their work commitment as perceived and wholly nominated by Faculty students.
The evening progressed to acknowledge people who were considered solely by faculty students to have nurtured a positive influence on their lives at our University. Dr Rosienne Farrugia was selected as Academic of the Year, Elaine Formosa clinical mentor of the Year and Nikolai Papagiorcopulo Administrative/Technical of the Year.
This year’s event also served as a platform to showcase in-house talent and art. Ms Michela Spiteri and Ms Francesca Borg filled the theatre with their beautiful voices. A display of intricate drawings in Trois Crayons was exhibited by Mr Patrick Chircop who hails from the Faculty’s Procurement Office. A jubilant reception was held to complete the evening. The Faculty would like to thank all students, staff and distinguished guests who joined us in this end of year celebration.
