Malta Employees Sports Association organised a one-day over 35 5-a-side football tournament as part of the European Week of Sport activities. Six teams participated, namely, Armed Forces of Malta, Transport Malta, St Vincent De Paul Residence, Malta Police Force, Enemalta Plc and last but not least, the University of Malta.
The tournament was held at the Kirkop Sports Complex on Tuesday, 24 September 2019.
After passing the first round stage as Group A runners up, UM football team defeated Enemalta plc in the semi finals on penalties and defeated a strong Armed Forces of Malta side 2-0 in the final.
The UM footbal team would like to thank Ms Jacqueline Fenech and all staff at the Office for Human Resources Management and Development, Mr Pierre Cassar and all staff at the Marketing, Communications & Alumni Office and finally all the relevant Heads of Department for their constant support.
The University of Malta over 35 football team was made up of the following players.
