Professor Lilian M. Azzopardi receiving the Fellowship from ESCP President Dr Bart van den Bemt

Professor Lilian M. Azzopardi from the Department of Pharmacy, Faculty of Medicine and Surgery was recently awarded the Fellowship of the European Society of Clinical Pharmacy during the 48th ESCP Conference held in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Professor Azzopardi received the fellowship for her contribution to the advancement of clinical pharmacy in Europe.

During the ESCP conference, Professor Azzopardi delivered the Steve Hudson Memorial Lecture. Professor Steve Hudson was a visionary of clinical pharmacy education based at the University of Strathcylde, UK and a collaborator of the Department  of Pharmacy at the University of Malta.

Professor Azzopardi delivered the lecture ‘The Pharmacist, the Soul and the Vision: Transforming clinical pharmacy education and practice’ with a reflection on how models of pharmacy education empower pharmacists to maintain a patient-focus in the delivery of pharmaceutical services.
