A group of students from the University of Granada, Spain and the Polytechnic Institute of Portalegre, Portugal, will join their peers at the Institute for Tourism, Travel & Culture at UM for the third and final Intensive Progamme. This Intensive Programme, which will be held between 15 and 22 February, is part of 3Economy+, the Erasmus+ KA2 Strategic Partnership Project for Higher Education.
The students, studying economics, marketing and tourism, will be accompanied by their lecturers during their stay in Malta. The group will visit a number of cultural tourism sites and organisations including hotels, the National Archaeological Museum, managed by Heritage Malta, housed in what was the Auberge d'Italie of the Knights of St John in Valletta, the 17th century University of Malta Valletta campus, and Palazzo Falzon, managed by Fondazzjoni Patrimonju Malti, in Mdina. The students together with their lecturers will meet the President of Malta His Excellency George Vella at San Anton Palace in Ħal Lija.
This week-long experience, which is part of the students' multi-year formative experience at the campuses of the University of Granada in Melilla and Portalegre, will prepare them for the work placements which will take place in Malta in summer 2020.
All outcomes are shared online and through direct and personal contact established among the higher education participating institutes. The project website provides up-to-date digital learning materials like MOOCs (massive open online course) and videos together with other text-based research and study materials.
